KONG Premium Treats Review & Giveaway

Boy, do we have a treat for you today! Literally!

OK. I'm really sorry, but I had to get that out of my system.

So then, yes: we've got a giveaway today--of treats! KONG Premium Treats, in fact. And this particular giveaway will have three winners (who will each get three different kinds of treats)! Why is this so exciting? Because these treats are awesome. I know it. Desmond knows it. And you'll know it, too, if you win some for yourself (or pick some up on your own accord).

We haven't been able to get Desmond excited about much in the food department, so when I opened the review package from KONG and Desmond basically harassed me until I handed something over, I knew we had a winner.

This package contained a large, bacon-flavored chew. It's what I had to relinquish to Desmond to get him to stop shoving his nose into any random body part he could reach while I was opening the package. I never even got to take a proper pic. He is kind of weird with chews, bones, rawhide, tracheas, etc. Sometimes he loves them and gobbles them up; other times, he sniffs and walks away--and possibly never bothers with it again. I was pleasantly surprised to see him run off with this and hide while he scarfed it down. Don't worry: I was nearby in case of any chew hazards (of which we had none). I would absolutely buy this chew and try the others like it.
KONG also sent us these chewy sweet potato treats, the bigger of the two chewy treats. Desmond loves these!
And the other chewy treat were these beef bites. Desmond really likes these, too, but I think he may like the sweet potato ones more. Not sure if that's because they are bigger, because he normally loves both of these flavors. I think he's just a piggy who wants a bigger treat.

Waiting nicely--if with an attitude--for permission to swipe the goods
I'm thrilled that we've got some new treats that Desmond looks forward to getting, but I'm especially happy that these are quality treats. They're made in the U.S., and there's no icky stuff in them. I would definitely buy them again.

I put some of them in the KONG we have, which is the Leo, and that sort of worked. I mean, they fit in there fine, but they don't come back out easily--and we all know Desmond is no Rhodes Scholar (plus he's super lazy). So, the outcome of that experiment was Des trying to get treats out of the KONG for over a half hour, to no avail. He just kept licking and licking and giving the KONG dirty looks. He must have gotten something out of that, though, because I'm sure he would have given up earlier if not. There were still a bunch of treats when he was done, and they were super gross and sticky and kind of trapped in there. Don't think I'll be doing that again! We need to stick with the beginner-level treat-dispensing toys for this guy.
